As educational innovators, we
ensure optimal growth of all learners by collaborating with our school
districts and community to initiate, design, and deliver exemplary
leadership, teaching and learning. To achieve this mission the IU
follows an annual strategic plan as well as implementing the following
goals and strategies into every project we take on.
Procedures for Families Regarding Inclement Weather
Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 at Samuel Everitt Early
Childhood Services and School Age programs follow the snow and inclement weather-closing
schedule of the Neshaminy School District.
Make sure you know the school district in which your child’s program is
located. Be sure you have their website or snow closing number. Updates regarding delays and closings can also be found on this website.
Early Childhood Services ((ECS) playgroups and itinerant therapies follow the same schedule.
If there is a delay in the Neshaminy School District Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 at Samuel Everitt will follow the district delayed schedule.
Parents are asked to follow the Neshaminy School District’s delay schedule when dropping children
off at Bucks County Intermediate #22 at Samuel Everitt. Otherwise, staff will not be
available to meet you and your child.
For children attending an IU classroom program:
Early Childhood (ECS) programs - a 2-hour delay will result in cancellation of AM programming.
School-Age programs - a 2-hour delay will result in School-Age programs following a 2-hour delay schedule.
For children receiving transportation from their districts or from the
IU, families must also pay attention to the school closing or delay
announced for their transportation provider, since it is possible that
decisions will vary from district to district. A program may be open,
but transportation may not be operating, or vice versa. For example, if the school district you reside in is closed due to inclement weather, transportation will not be provided. If Samuel Everitt is open but your residing school district is not, parents may choose to transport child to and from school, however the child is not required to attend if transportation is not available.
If you are transporting your child to services, please follow the
school district’s schedule since that is the schedule that IU staff will
When weather or unforeseen emergencies forces Samuel Everitt to close early, we work with school
districts and families to see that children arrive home safely.
