Early Intervention Announcements
Early Childhood Services in Bucks County
The Early Childhood Services Program provides early intervention to three to five year old children living in Bucks County who have special needs. Services are provided to eligible children in locations throughout the county.
Screenings are available several times each month in convenient locations throughout Bucks County. All screenings are provided by appointment. The screening helps determine if an evaluation is needed.
A comprehensive evaluation may lead to the finding that a child has a developmental delay or disability, and that early intervention is needed. Examples of early intervention programs include special instruction in the child's child care or preschool; consultation provided to families, educators and caregivers; special classes and groups; and speech therapy, speech, occupational or physical therapies.
Parents whose child may have special needs are assured confidentiality and due process protections. More information about the rights of eligible young children can be requested by calling 1-800-770-4822, extension 1711, and asking for a supervisor or service coordinator.
If you are concerned about a child who is not yet three, go to Children Under Three for more information.
