BCIU Education Foundation
The Bucks County Schools Intermediate Unit Education Foundation is an independent, private, nonprofit, charitable organization created to support educational opportunities for the benefit of students in Bucks County. The foundation works with teachers, administrators, School Directors and parents to ensure that the children of Bucks County receive the best possible education. It is a vehicle that connects education to the community, and is expected to become the center for diverse groups that already support education with human and financial resources. The Foundation will broaden the base that provides financial and other assistance to Intermediate Unit staff and programs, and to the many special students in these programs.
The Foundation funds programs that support creative and innovative classroom ideas for our Intermediate Unit teachers. It wants to tell teachers to go ahead and try new and better ways to help their students and we will find the money for you to make it happen. The Board of Directors provides grants/gifts to individual departments, individual teachers, administrators or to teacher teams. The Foundation encourages teachers and students to reach beyond themselves by offering them competitive grants for new and appealing classroom projects or innovative extra-curricular programs. It helps keep teachers renewed and in the vanguard in both their teaching skills and subject matter. It helps provide state-of-the-art technology for students to learn on the best possible equipment. It helps fund internships and partnerships in cooperation with school-to-work and other programs to give our students and teachers work experience in the business world. The Foundation can make a difference in the level of excellence in our Bucks County schools.
The Foundation Board will solicit funds and accept tax-exempt donations from corporations, business groups, other foundations, and groups or individuals that care about the quality of schools in Bucks County. The Foundation will seek to establish a permanent fund by reaching our to the community to ask for financial aid and assistance, and inviting them to play a key role to make good things happen in classrooms across Bucks County.
