Itinerant Hearing Support Teacher
I am an Itinerant Hearing Support teacher working in the Centennial School District. I service students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing from Kindergarten through age 21.
I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in Deaf Education. I also hold a master's degree in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University. This additional degree has allowed me to utilize technology to support my students in ways I might not be able to do normally. Through my classes I began and continued an educational website called Kool Kids Sign with the goal of providing free educational materials for students with hearing loss with an emphasis on sign language.
In recent years I have become involved in Pennsylvania Educators of Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. PESDHH provides opportunities for teachers to share ideas and get up to date information regarding deaf education. I have made instructional technology presentations at two of their convocations and am also their webmaster.
