Cooperative Purchasing Program
|
The Bucks County Schools Cooperative Purchasing Group was formed by the Bucks
County Schools Intermediate Unit and includes as members every public school
district and area vocational technical school in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The
Group was formed with the mutual desire of each participant to obtain the best
product at the best price for those items bid annually by its members. The
concept behind the cooperative purchasing effort is that the consolidation of
mutual bids on a regional basis will result in significant savings to each
participating member. Savings can result in a number of ways including quantity
discounts, reduced administrative and clerical costs and additional expertise
provided by those members helping coordinate each bid development and award. The
decision of what items to bid and the recommendation of which bids to accept
result from suggestions developed by bid committees comprised of members of each
participating district. |
