Dr. Mark Hoffman joined the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) in 2007. Prior to assuming the role of Executive Director in 2015, Dr. Hoffman led organizational initiatives in the areas of instructional technology, information technology, online learning, facilities, and special education. The highlight of Dr. Hoffman’s day is visiting the students and educators in BCIU classrooms located throughout the county.
Prior to his work at the BCIU, Dr. Hoffman served as an assistant director at the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit and as a middle and high school Spanish teacher in the Central Bucks School District.
Dr. Hoffman graduated from Penn State University with degrees in education and Spanish and received his master’s degree in education from St. Joseph’s University. He earned his doctorate in educational and organizational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, with a research focus on entrepreneurship in public education.
Dr. Hoffman is a product of Bucks County schools, attending both Bristol Township and Council Rock public schools as a student. In his spare time, Dr. Hoffman enjoys music, reading, and traveling with his family.
