The Bucks County Intermediate Unit
is a regional educational service agency, #22 of twenty-nine in Pennsylvania established in1970.
Working with the State Department of Education and the local school districts, Intermediate Units provide programs and services to County Schools in a highly cost-effective manner. Since IU’s do not have taxing power, local school district contributions support the majority of the programs offered by IU’s. Some programs and services are also funded by federal or state allocations.
