Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick participated in a live
Kids Voting video stream with Bucks County students on Friday, February 10, 2012. Congressman Fitzpatrick was live and in person at Pennridge High School during the event. The Bucks County Intermediate Unit was asked by
Kids Voting to facilitate the live video stream of his remarks that was accessible to local districts. The IU utilized the LifeSize video center to broadcast the event. The stream was accessible from any web browser, iOS, and/or Android device. The remote sites watched the event only and did not connect in via videoconferencing equipment.
Kids Voting Southeast Pennsylvania is a grassroots nonpartisan organization working with local school districts in Bucks and eastern Montgomery counties and the community at large to enhance civics education. The mission of Kids Voting is three-fold—to teach our youth to be responsible and informed citizens; to provide a hands-on, realistic voting experience on Election Day; and to increase adult voter participation through a “trickle up” effect.
