APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR

POST-SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO APPLY TO COLLEGE:

REGULAR MAIL:  FILL OUT AND MAIL YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATIONS

TO THE  SCHOOLS OR SCHOLARSHIPS YOU HAVE SELECTED.   ANY FORMS  THAT ARE PROVIDED FOR THE  SECONDARY SCHOOL OR THE COUNSELOR SHOULD BE GIVEN TO YOUR COUNSELOR,  ALONG WITH A COMPLETED TRANSCRIPT REQUEST CARD.   YOUR COUNSELOR WILL THEN FORWARD ALL THE REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.

VIA THE INTERNET:  IF YOU APPLY ON THE INTERNET YOU MUST  DOWNLOAD ANY FORMS  THAT ARE PROVIDED FOR THE  SECONDARY SCHOOL OR THE COUNSELOR.  GIVE THE FORMS ALONG WITH A COMPLETED TRANSCRIPT REQUEST CARD TO YOUR COUNSELOR .  YOUR COUNSELOR WILL THEN FORWARD ALL THE REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.

IF YOU ARE APPLYING BY REGULAR MAIL,

YOU MUST MAIL YOUR APPLICATION IN ON YOUR OWN.

Many colleges now require SAT scores to be sent directly from

the College Board to the college.  It is your responsibility to determine if the school to which you are applying requires this and then request the College Board to send the scores to that college.

PROCEDURE FOR REQUESTING TRANSCRIPTS

1.  All requests for transcripts must be submitted to your counselor.

2.  Please allow at least three (3) weeks or fifteen full school days for processing.

For example:  If the application is due November 15, the application MUST be submitted

Before October 25.

3. All applications require an official transcript (one that is mailed directly from Archbishop

Wood  and includes the school seal).  Your counselor must send this and you may request it by:

a.   Filling out a Transcript Request Card (orange card) for each application.

b.   Including the $3.00 processing fee ($3.00 in cash) for each transcript, and it

must accompany the transcript request card.

4.  If the college requests mid-term and final grades where you are applying, please

tell us so that we can mail this information to them.

Failure to comply with any of the above steps will result in the delay of your  application.  Your counselor must send all transcripts. No transcript will  be accepted by the post-secondary school if  it is not mailed directly from your counselor.
