APPLYING FOR AN ROTC SCHOLARSHIP

The Reserve Officers' Training Corps is a program that combines college courses in military science with summer training sessions to develop cadets for positions of responsibility as an officer. Upon successful completion of the program and graduation, cadets will be awarded an officers' commission.  Students may be eligible for a four-year ROTC scholarship if they are preparing to enter college as freshmen. Four-year scholarships are awarded each year on a competitive basis to a selected number of qualified applicants. These scholarships will pay for college tuition, educational fees which are required of all students, and provide a fixed amount for textbooks, supplies and equipment. In addition, the student will receive a tax-free allowance each school year the scholarship is in effect.

Applicants will be selected for an interview and physical aptitude examination, based  on the results of the SAT or ACT, high school academic standing, leadership, athletic and extracurricular activities. The interview and physical aptitude examination do not ensure that competitive applicants will be selected for final scholarship consideration.
