In gym class on Monday, December 6th, Natalie had a blast playing tag games such as sharks and minnows, and spiders and insects. She was a minnow, and got to the other side successfully. Then she was an insect, and with her speed was not caught that often.

Welcome to Smyle club, spreading smyles across America! We are a wonderful club with over 20 different kids in our club. Right now we're working so diligently for this classroom in Louisianna with lack of school supplies, clean water, and money. We are working so hard for these children, and we would be so grateful for anyone to support and give helping hands. This is also a multiple disabilities classroom with six awesome students named Ali, Ben Mel, Natalie, and our newest friend, Christopher. Remember, we are trying to spread our smyles across America.

This year the smyle club we are written to pen pals. That live in Louisiana and need a little bit of stuff to be helpful in life. Smyle club is going to send emails to them to make a smile on there faces. It is fantastic that we can make somebody smile by just sending emails. We are also get our on pen pals and send stuff to them.
This year we having assembly’s about the R word the R word is “Retard”. We are trying to tell people in are school not to use that word because they do not know what they are saying when they use the word. They put the R word in a different meaning but they do not know that. We are putting signs all over the school to remind them. We are hoping you don’t use the word. Try your hardest.
This year is going to be the best! So... We are expecting a new student. His name is Christopher! The students we already have are Natalie, Ben, Ali, Mel, and Richie! Through out the years we have done so may fun things! for example we were part of a fundraiser at Camp Men-O-Lan! We tend a garden, and do lots of fun and crafts! We have a lot of pets in the room. We have some fish, two guinea pigs, and a turtle! But all this wouldn't be possible without the help from Ms. Story, Mrs. Boyd, Mr. Lande!!

And boy crazy is back... dun dun dunnnnnn! From a rainy Friday afternoon, our lovely volunteers spend a 11th period Smyle club working hard. Form crocheting and making a stepping stone for our beloved school swan Cleo that has recently passed, everyone is well focused. Ali is attending the needs of our school with her friends, cleaning the trash throughout the hallways. Ben is quietly watching Lexi mix plaster with a stirrer sticky thingy. Richie is hanging out with Paige and totally enjoying himself. Mel is siting here, being crazy as everrr and helping Boy Crazy blog. Rob just enjoyed the company of others. Our Smyle club has become very productive with all 5 kids being here! We will add more as an update as soon as possible. Nat and Ricky, we miss you a ton! Samm, this year has been so long and so different without you but you're doing an amazing job up at the high school and holding your friendships with everyone. Hope to see you guys back at South soon!
Well, here it is February already! We had our first snow day, actually two, this past week! Unfortunately, our faithful, talented student blogger has decided she is more interested in boys then writing(You know who you are!) which leaves me with keeping everyone up to date. Let's see....first, I hope you read this Natalie....air hugs, a gazillion of them, right back at you. I miss you...we all miss you so much....how is 7th grade??? Ben is finally back after being away for a very long time. Yay!! We missed you, Ben! Rich is still out...hopefully he'll be back really soon. Melanie started sewing class with Mrs. Boyd. They're sewing a really cool pair of boxer shorts! Mel and Mrs. Boyd are in class with some of our great 7th grade volunteers! Thanks to Mrs. Auchenbach for letting us have this fun experience. Rob is going to be hanging out in a gait trainer for a while! :) We can't wait to see him in a stander! Rob also has a super new friend this year...Nick! Ali, she has been LOVING going to the cafeteria everyday and sitting with her friends, especially Laurie and Brianna. Our new SMYLE club starts this Friday...stay tuned....!
After so many eventful days many things have changed. Richie and Mel are working strongly together with their goals of walking. With every step and every move they come closer to the top of a mountain. Many goals are also set for Robbie, Ben, and Ali too. Working together with strong positive attitudes and fun encouragements a lot gets accomplished for these kids. Saturday, as many people know, was Halloween. Mel had some company for the night. Samm and Alli went to Mel's house for awhile, dressing her up and having fun just like girls do. Although it was a fairly rainy night, we stayed inside most of the night. Time spent with these kids as much as possible is something that means the most to them. Many new things have been happening in this room and more can be shared later.
After just getting over surgery, Richie is walking again! He walked 1/2 way down the hallway. Not only is Richie working on his new goals, but so is everyone else. New goals such as walking, signing, screaming(Jeremy's fault that annoys Ms. Story) and many other things. All the kids in the MDS room are making progress. Progress to them means the world. When something new is accomplished everyone is to know about it. We can't list enough things that these kids have completed. From start to finish of last year, the year before, and this, we will have amazing progress to report to you all. The teachers and volunteers impact on the kids implies a life time of different attitudes. ~ Contributed by: Alli and Kristian :) :)
Hi Everybody! Mrs. Boyd's birthday is September 19th, this coming Saturday! One of the very best presents we could all give her would be to send special birthday wishes her way...and tell her how very special she is to all of us! It would be such a wonderful gift if you could post your thoughts to her and we'll surprise her with them on Friday in school. I bet they'll even make her cry! (Which isn't hard to do, by the way!) Thanks, my wonderful friends!!
Welcome back everyone to our new school year!! It has been so wonderful to see all of our friends again! I have missed you all so much! We have our five fabulous kids back...Mel, Rob, Ali, Ben and Rich. Even though I think they are all missing being lazy and sleeping in everyday over the summer :), they, too have missed all their friends!! This year, we will be doing lots of fun things like growing plants in our new greenhouse, taking care of all our pets, including a new hermit crab and making fun projects with our SMYLE club. Keep checking our blog for birthday announcements, milestones and our classroom/volunteer activities!
Samm....Natalie...we miss you every single day. Nat, your turtles are right on my desk. :)
