{open book} Provide a forum for discussion of reading-related issues {open book} Introduce exciting new children’s literature History of the Bucks County Reading Council 2008-2009 is the 46th anniversary of the council. It was chartered by the International Reading Association in 1963 and has continued its goal of being the driving force behind the development of literacy skills today. Membership Procedure Membership will now run for a calendar year, beginning at the end of the month in which you join or renew, and ending one year later. The annual membership fee of $30 for regular membership for the first council you join and $20 for each additional council. The $30 annual fee covers BOTH membership in one local council and Keystone State Reading Association (KSRA). Community Outreach Project Baby Book Bags Baby Book Bags hold a new board book for the baby along with some literature promoting positive reading experiences between parents and children. They are distributed to teen mothers through hospital programs in Bucks County. Applications to the Bucks County Free Library system are included. |
